Information for overseas students

EU students

Residents from EU countries are treated as ‘home students’. If you are classed as a ‘dependant’ student, your parents’ income will be means tested to decide whether they should contribute towards your fees. You will not be able to use the student loan system for living costs unless you have lived in the UK as an ordinary resident for three years. For more information contact the EU team call centre on 01325 391199.

Overseas students

If you have entered the UK on a student visa you will be classed as an overseas student. This means that you will not be entitled to financial assistance and must be able to pay your own fees and living expenses. Fees for overseas students are much higher than for home students.

Students from other countries should apply for university places through the UCAS system.
